Pop star Britney Spears in a minor road accident

Police said Spears, pictured in October, was driving at night when she crashed

Pop star Britney Spears has been involved in a minor road accident on the Ventura Freeway in Los Angeles.

The 26-year-old was driving her Mercedes through slow-moving traffic when she struck a Nissan which had stopped in front of her, police said.

The Nissan bumped into another vehicle but there was no damage and nobody in any of the cars was injured.

Officers from the California Highway Patrol went to the scene but no charges will be brought, a spokesman said.

This is not the first time that Spears has been involved in a traffic accident.

Last August she escaped a hit-and-run charge after paying an undisclosed amount of money to the owner of a vehicle into which she allegedly crashed in a car park.

And in 2006 Spears admitted making a "mistake" after being photographed driving with one of her sons on her lap, rather than strapped into a baby's car seat.

The singer's father, James Spears, currently has control of her assets.

He was granted what is known as "temporary conservatorship" in February after she was admitted to a psychiatric ward.

Spears' publicist did not respond to an e-mail message sent by the Associated Press requesting a comment on the latest incident. __

Art cars, Future cars, Technology cars, Muscile cars and more

www.youthsprouts.blogspot.com

Battlestar Galactica Viper We thought we’d take a little break from the usual and take a look at some cool art cars that geeks have modded into their own visions of coolness. So here’s some random pimped out tonnage of pure nerd love coming at ya. When a nerd has a car, all things are possible…Though it will usually end up having something to do with the Star Wars universe.

VW Ball

VW Microbus Ball-A piece of art by Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top fame. He took a vw microbus and made it into a VW ball. Truly a thing of beauty. The tires unfold when you need em. This is what we need to see more of on the road. Or in the sky for that matter.

Circuit Board Car

Circuit Board Car-Someone went a little crazy with circuit boards. This one must be blinding in direct sunlight. You have to wonder how much weight the boards added to the car in total.

Pyramid power

The Pyramid Car-This pyramid electric car weighs 8,000-pounds and is powered by 80-batteries, with four engines. It can supposedly reach speeds of up to 45mph. I love how the canopy pops open like a Colonial Viper from Battlestar Galactica. It was built by a Father and his two sons.

The Pac-Man car

The Pac-Man car-This is the best way to outrun ghosts that I have seen yet. And it attracts the ladies.

Ecto-1

The Subaru Outback Ecto-1-This guy started a thread on the NASIOC forums (North American Subaru Impreza Owners Club) to showcase his 2003 Subaru Outback which he’s converted into a slightly smaller version of the Ecto-1 from the Ghostbusters films.

The Floppy Disk car

The Floppy Disk car-A 1998 Honda Civic covered with computer keys and, of course, floppy disks.

U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-7 Shuttlecar

U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-7 Shuttlecar-Now this is truly a geek ride. The only thing that could make it better is if they sold Ice cream from the back of this thing.

Star Wars Landspeeder

Star Wars Landspeeder-You probably remember this one from a while back. The vehicle was actually licensed in California. It just needs a few droids and your Uncle dressed as Ben Kenobi.

Jawa Sandcrawler

Jawa Sandcrawler-I had no idea that Jawas attended Burning Man. I hope they collected enough robot parts to really stick it to the Skywalkers this season.

The X-Wing…car

The X-Wing…car-A California guy modded his Honda del Sol into Luke’s X-Wing Fighter. It even has R2 astromech droid in the rear, some burns, and the Rebel insignia, and laser blasters on the car doors.

Battlestar Galactica Viper

Battlestar Galactica Viper-Dean Shorey built this car, based on the Vipers from classic Battlestar Galactica, by hand. I would love to see this thing coming down the street.

Yamaha R6- motor cycle, bike, sprots bike and more...

www.youthsprouts.blogspot.com Add to Technorati Favorites The last time that the Yamaha R6 was redesigned in 2006, the focus was purely on the racetrack, with street riding a distant thought in the backs of engineers minds. We're not suggesting that the R6 isn't a capable bike to ride on the street, but there are certainly far better choices if your main goal were to commute back and forth to work. On the track, however, the R6 shines with its high-RPM power band and razor-sharp handling traits. This year, the R6 got a few tweaks in an effort to add midrange power while still retaining its class-leading high-RPM punch, including a higher compression ratio, Yamaha's Chip Controlled Intake (YCC-I) and Yamaha's Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T). These changes have allowed the R6 to break the 170 mile-per-hour barrier, a first for a 600cc machine. Fortunately, Yamaha saw fit to increase chassis stability by reinforcing the steering head, engine mounting points and rear swingarm pivot, among other subtle tweaks. Suspension tuning is slightly different too, with a 41mm inverted fork and a more adjustable rear shock. We are quite impressed by the speed and power that Yamaha has wrangled from its middleweight racer, which makes up more than half its total sportbike sales. __
