FIREFOX THE FOX WAY. SHOWS OUT THE FLASH URL EMBEDED ON WEB PAGE

www.youthsprouts.blogspot.com Like that embedded flash animation or game on a website and wanted to have it on your hard disk. You can do that if you are on Firefox. Its very simple, just load the webpage with the embedded flash animation on Firefox and go to Tools -> Page Info. Select the Media tab on the page info box. Add to Technorati Favorites A list appears which lists all media contents on the webpage like images, sounds, flash etc with details like address of the file and the type. Scroll through the list and identify the flash file embedded on the page you want to save. One hint would be that its extension is .swf and it would be listed as 'Embed' type in the list. Once you find out the embedded flash file, select it and click on 'Save As' button below the list to save the file on your hard disk. __

IBM Measures The Force Required To Move Atoms

www.youthsprouts.blogspot.com Add to Technorati Favorites

In a recent paper published in the journal Science, IBM researchers describe a new milestone in nanotechnology: the ability to measure the force required to move individual atoms. Their findings are an important step for understanding what types of atoms are best suited for building different kinds of nanoelectronic devices, based on how strong or weak of a bond they can form on different surfaces. The ability to control atoms and move them around on a surface was first discovered by an IBM researcher nearly 20 years ago -- an achievement that has been hailed as the "Kittyhawk of Nanotechnology." But until today, nobody has known the exact force required to move atoms on a surface: an absolutely critical understanding if we are to build Lilliputian computer chips and storage devices from the atom up. The problem is akin to what scientists and engineers needed to learn about construction at macroscopic sizes many decades ago. For example, building a modern bridge would be impossible without first measuring the strength of different materials, understanding the relevant forces, and comprehending how everything interacts. In the nanotechnology realm, to make structures that you want to remain rigidly in place you would use strongly bonded ("sticky") atoms while for groups of atoms that need to move you would use atoms held in place only by weak chemical bonds. __

Robot space truck docks with ISS

Station camera shows moment ATV docks with ISS

Europe's sophisticated new space truck, the ATV, has docked with the International Space Station (ISS).

The unmanned vessel carries just under five tonnes of food, water, air, fuel and equipment for the orbiting platform's three astronauts.

The Automated Transfer Vehicle used its own computerised systems to make the attachment at 1445 GMT.

Ground control and the ISS crew were on alert just in case there was a problem - but it was a textbook docking.

Converting moving traffic into electricity

www.youthsprouts.blogspot.com

MagKinetics unveil a patent pending technology for converting moving traffic into electricity. They believe this practical and logical technology has the potential to solve a large portion of the world’s energy crisis. They are confident that if they can continue working with Physicists and Engineers to develop the technology further, this technology will lower Green house gas emissions, create unlimited electricity, create thousands of jobs and eliminate the need to alter the landscape as other renewable technologies require.

Converting moving traffic into electricity

The implementation of the technology for generating electricity is “built into the road itself.” “Without any modification to the traveling vehicle, driving options or personal freedoms, our technology can be used to produce clean, efficient, and substantial electrical energy from merely driving in the normal course,” said the inventor and business partner co-founder, Mark Nejmeh.
